Write about things you know, things you have seen. If you try writing about something you know nothing about folks will see right through that and you will lose credibility.

You can use your writing to encourage others like you. Sometimes an encouraging word can change someone’s day.

Dear friends, although I was very eager to write to you about the salvation we share, I felt I had to write and urge you to contend for the faith that was once for all entrusted to the saints.
Don’t forget face to face fellowship. Blogging and online fellowship can be great, and you can communicate with folks all over the world. But don’t forget to talk with those around you. It will add to not only your life but also to what you write.

Before writing something new or approaching a new thought or direction in your writing, first establish some common ground. Here is an example.
“ I know we usually talk about blogging here, but today i want to share something I read in the paper this morning. I really think you will be blessed.”
Then go on with the new thing.
